Sitters & More is a privately owned and operated family business that provides non-medical care and support services to seniors and the disabled in the comfort of their own homes. Unlike some franchised agencies, we hire local people who are our direct employees, who are paid with local money and who pay taxes, keeping revenue local to Middle Tennessee. We have been in business longer than any other privately family-owned provider in Middle Tennessee. We pride ourselves on meeting needs one client at a time. This approach has assisted in developing our reputation as the “provider that can get it done right” and has led to our continued growth.

Our Mission

We are dedicated first and foremost to providing the best quality of care available. We do this by being a good employer. Our quality caregivers are all trained specifically in this industry, have clean criminal backgrounds and references from previous employers. We hold ourselves and our employees to the highest level of ethics and integrity. We value our employees, which in turn provides them with the incentive to do a good job by going above and beyond. It has been said, “you can have a code of ethics, but integrity comes from within.” This philosophy has positioned us as a leader in our industry. Finally, we strive to be a good corporate citizen by continuously looking for opportunities to get involved and give back to the communities that have supported us for the past 15 years.

Our History

Sitters & More was founded in 1999 by two RNs who envisioned a service that would truly meet the needs of the aging and disabled population. From their years of home health experience, they realized that most people want to remain in their homes as long as possible and that most will not need the level of care that registered nurses provide. Most people simply need someone to come into the home, assess the individual needs of that person, develop a personal plan of care and identify a caregiver who can connect well with that person while providing quality care.  We continue to follow this simple pattern today, meeting needs one client at a time. Betty Peevyhouse, one of the original founders, still remains on the Board of Directors and is very passionate about matching the right caregiver to each client.

Management

Owner and President Bo Peevyhouse locally operates Sitters & More. Bo and his staff are very dedicated to their individual roles within the company. Each member of the team has a talent specifically geared toward his or her function in the company. By clearly defining each person’s responsibilities, we are able to provide great customer service to our individual clients, as well as foster a positive work environment for our caregivers. The office staff consists of the Office Manager, our Human Resource Administrator and of course the Scheduling Specialist. Other staff members include our Billing Specialist, Payroll Clerk and Quality Assurance Field Supervisor. One extremely important staff position is our On-Call Scheduler. This person works nights and weekends, ensuring that we are always available to clients and caregivers 24/7, allowing us to guarantee that quality care is never interrupted.
